SURINDER GREWAL

Surinder Grewal played three years at the University of Calgary where he graduated with a Degree in Economics and a Diploma in Accounting in 2005. In the 2004-2005 Surinder finished the season 9th in the nation in scoring at 19.3 points per game while shooting over 50% percent from the field. He was awarded a Canada West 1st team all star and all Canadian nomination. In the 2003-2004 season Surinder played an integral part in the University of Calgary’s Canada West Title and CIS Nationals semifinal appearance. In the 2002-2003 season he finished 1st in the nation in 3 point field goal percentage @55.1%. Surinder also played two years at Kwantlen Polytechnic University earning a BCCAA Provincial 1st Team All Star award in the 2001-2002 campaign. He finished 3rd in the province in scoring both seasons @ 20+ points per game and was Most Valuable Player for Kwantlen both years as well. Surinder brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table and he hopes to impact the growing youth in the lower mainland in a positive way whether it is through basketball or education.

About the program

The Athelite Youth Basketball League offers an exhilarating and competitive opportunity for both girls and boys who are beginners in basketball, catering to a wide range of programs from grades 3 to 7. Combining fun and skill-building, the league is the perfect platform for young athletes to kick-start their basketball journey. With one weekly practice session and an age-appropriate modified game, participants receive comprehensive training and a chance to put their skills into action.

The league takes safety seriously, providing hand sanitizer at the entrance and adhering to strict arrival and departure guidelines. Moreover, the league’s dedicated NCCP trained coaches instill a sense of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline, fostering both personal growth and a love for the sport.

Parents are NOT allowed into the facility during practice.
