SURINDER GREWAL

Surinder Grewal played three years at the University of Calgary where he graduated with a Degree in Economics and a Diploma in Accounting in 2005. In the 2004-2005 Surinder finished the season 9th in the nation in scoring at 19.3 points per game while shooting over 50% percent from the field. He was awarded a Canada West 1st team all star and all Canadian nomination. In the 2003-2004 season Surinder played an integral part in the University of Calgary’s Canada West Title and CIS Nationals semifinal appearance. In the 2002-2003 season he finished 1st in the nation in 3 point field goal percentage @55.1%. Surinder also played two years at Kwantlen Polytechnic University earning a BCCAA Provincial 1st Team All Star award in the 2001-2002 campaign. He finished 3rd in the province in scoring both seasons @ 20+ points per game and was Most Valuable Player for Kwantlen both years as well. Surinder brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table and he hopes to impact the growing youth in the lower mainland in a positive way whether it is through basketball or education.

The Basketball Training Academy offers a variety of programs to cater to aspiring basketball players of all ages and skill levels. The Tykes Academy is a co-ed program that provides a fun introduction to basketball, teaching basic fundamentals through interactive gameplay and drills. Their main focus is on creating an enjoyable first experience with the sport.

The Boys and Girls Fundamentals Academies​

Design for grades 3 to 7, aim to boost confidence and increase physical literacy and conditioning. Their training methods include on-court skill development and off-court dry land training, promoting well-rounded multi-sport athletes. The training is tailored to age and skill levels to ensure appropriate challenges for all participants.

The Development Training Academy

Designed for boys and girls entering grades 5 to 9, targeting beginner to intermediate level players. The program aims to challenge participants with advanced footwork while building a solid foundation of basketball fundamentals. Individual development focuses on shooting, attacking from triple threat positions, and dribbling.

The experienced coaches at the Basketball Training Academy foster a positive and supportive learning environment, inspiring a love for the game while helping athletes reach their full potential. Whether beginners taking their first steps on the court or experienced players refining their skills, the programs strike a balance between challenge, growth, and enjoyment.
